It’s Time Again
Right. Now that car race has been and gone it means its time for proper sport once again. The footy starts this week and this means only one thing, it’s footy tipping time again!
Yes, the world’s ugliest trophy is up for grabs again. Last year’s winner, Miss Trish (pictured below with the worlds ugliest trophy) will be fighting to become the first ever person to keep the mug two years running and it’s up to all of us to stop her.
It’s free, it’s easy, it’s fun and it ends in a bbq – who could ask for more? Simply click to join my footy tipping competition and your life will never be the same again. Even if you’ve never seen a game in your life you can, and probably will, do better than all of us born with the game.
It Freaks Me Out
38.5
38.5 degrees, now that’s getting warm. What a shame to have it on a public holiday too when it’s just too warm to take the three young un’s out and about with any degree of comfort. We did, however, get going early and went for a stroll around Williamstown and a coffee before the heat of the day really hit. We even managed to get out to the block to check how it’s going, but as it was 30 degrees by 11.00am we decided to then head home and spend the rest of the day relaxing indoors.
(More photos of our walk around Williamstown this morning)
A C(D) Change
I’ve been a digital music fan for years. I burnt my 600 odd CDs years ago and I have been downloading music since I read about these amazing MP3 thingies that could reduce a song a manageable download over dial up, and 28K dial up at that.
However there are few artists for whom I’d still go to JB and purchase the CD. Paul Kelly, New Order, Deb Conway and up until today Billy Bragg. I think I’ve finally switched to downloads only now. You can get most music without restrictive DRM on iTunes, I only seem to listen to music while at the computer or on the pod in the car and I have a spare dock for the iPod hooked up to the DVD player if I want to listen that way.
I think the only exception to the new download rule may be Paul Kelly but if Mr Bragg is download only now then even the mighty PK may fall come his next album.
Two Years Ago
We watched a movie with family and friends.
Happy 2nd anniversary my love.
The Unknown Barista
You’ll find him at shop#3, South Melbourne Market.
I love my coffee, I really do. I even named my business Between Coffees so trust me when I say this guy ‘gets coffee’. He always smiles, remembers who you are, keeps his machine scrupulously clean and never ever makes a disappointing coffee. Go in the morning, grab a calzone and a latte and then come home to email me thanks.
Bert Hitches A Ride
Off On A Friday
On The Dotted Line
We moved one step closer to our house today – we signed the contract to build. Half an hour of initialing pages and signing plans and we’re all set. They have 30 days to get the building permits, then another 30 days to start the building process. We’ve now paid for 3% of the house, which by my calculations is about two roof tiles. From here on it’s pretty much sit back and deal with things as they pop up, everything by and large is now in the hands of the good people at Henley. Oh, and the cool thing – we got to sign our docs on the 29th of Feb!
It’s an exciting time, but everything still seems like such a long way away. Next milestone will be pouring the slab and it’s probably then that I’ll really let myself believe that we’re going to have our own, new, house.
