AH HA!

I refuse to let technology defeat me. Especially when it’s because I’m stupid.

A while ago I wanted to put a little button on my site so people could click on it and view other bloggers in the same area. Well, it had me licked for a while but this morning I thought I’d give it another go.

A bit of hunting around showed up my two mistakes and now it works like a charm.

So, to see who is blogging nearby click the button below.

I may be stupid, but I’m persistent.

Great News

Veronica and Steve are engaged! Congratulations you two, couldn’t be happier for you both.

Lucky man, lucky girl. My guess is the wedding could be some time in September.

First Breakfast

After the soul crushing, spirit destroying, humiliating, world ending game on Friday night the weekend picked up a little. A lot actually; Mum, Dad, Helen & Tom spent Saturday with us. It was odd to have a baby in the house and I learned that I have a lot to learn. Nappies, dear god, the horror.

It’s Mum’s birthday today and seeing as how they stayed over night we took her out to breakfast. Now Mum, I hope she won’t mind me saying, turns 65 today and this was the first time ever she had been taken out to breakfast. In the previous 23,741 mornings of her life she had never once hopped in the car and sat over a bacon & eggs while reading the paper. I’m happy to report she handled it like a pro.

Happy birthday Mum, hope there’s many more breakfasts out yet to come.

Testing, One Two

Ha Hem.

Okay, here we go.

“IN THE BACK!”

“BALL!!”

“ARE YOU %(*#$)*( BLIND UMP!?!?”

“If only Richo had’ve got that first one….”

Right, I’m ready now. Off to the game.

Come Again?

From an email I received today.

…Earlier this year CompanyX lunched (sic) their new [plans] for your staff.
I would like to make this information accessible to staff, as they are very attractive and of great interest.

A Crash Isn’t A Crash

Ah, I must be easily amused today.

I was just reading an article on new technology when I found out how the aviation industry describes an aircraft crashing in to a mountain.

It’s not a crash it’s a “controlled flight into terrain”.

One of those words really doesn’t belong in that phrase.

2003 Begins Today

Most people start their year on the 1st of January and let it run for 12 months. Not in our little household. No way. The year starts late March and runs until the last Saturday in September. All other ‘months’ are merely limbo-time.

And today is the start of the year. Game 1, Round 1. Footy’s back.

I’m wearing my Tiger’s tie, I’ve plastered the Tiges all over the intranet here at work and Rae’s wearing my Tiger jumper to her work. Rob and I have our plan all sorted for getting to the game tonight, supplies are ready and optimism is creeping back in, even if every alleged expert in The Age is tipping Collingwood to defeat Richmond tonight.

Best of all we get to do it all again come Sunday when the Doggies play.

Here’s to a great 2003. Carn the Tiges!

Tigerland

And here we are, blog entry 500 and it’s being dedicated to….

The Tigers.

Tomorrow Richmond take on Collingwood and the good people at Tigerland have made a great little television ad. We saw it last night and I’m still chuckling over it.

Didn’t see it? Well, to make this blog special you can view it online courtesy of me.

Watch in Windows Media Format. (1.3 meg)
Watch in Real Media Format (1 meg)

For either format you can right click and save the file to your hard drive.

For those who don’t know. Richmond are known as The Tigers and Collingwood, the Magpies.
