Once Was Paw Paw

And so all good things must pass. This may be old news to many but we hadn’t been in to Yarraville for a while so it was a bit of a shock to see Cut Paw Paw had morphed in to this.

Once Was Cut Paw Paw

Obviously Cut Paw Paw couldn’t resurrect itself after the year of carnage. What a shame, it was once a good place to go for a coffee and a chat. I don’t think we’ll bother with its new incarnation. It also robs a Yarraville a little of it’s character; if any more of the old style shops are turned in to these garish stores a little bit of Melbourne’s soul will be lost.

  1. Hello Tony,

Occasional lurker, first time commenter here.

I had the strangest experience yesterday. There I was, walking past Marita’s in Anderson Street, and I saw a man, his (pregnant) wife, son and daughter, and I thought… where do I know them from?!? Then I spotted you again packing the troops into the car outside the Sun Theatre, and it dawned on me – “Between Coffees”. I thought it would be too weird to stop and say hello, but it was very surreal realising that people from the blogosphere do exist… in your own neighbourhood!

    Cheers.

P.S. As a long term Yarraville resident, I agree that Mojo’s Weird Pizza is a poor fit. If you are looking for great food and coffee next time, go and visit Claude at Caffe Urbano (opposite Marita’s). He’s lovely!

  2. Will do!

P.S. Good luck to you all for the impending arrivals. Hope it all goes well.

  3. I noticed that from the train today like I’d noticed it was all closed up before the morph into that… ugly thing. Pity.
