Well, I am sick.
Ended up at the local doctor this afternoon which was odd ’cause I’m accustomed to the one at work. I have no idea what this GP crisis thing is; I called and ten minutes later I was coughing deeply while a nicely warmed stethoscope was pressed in to my back. (For our English readers, hi Nigel, you don’t have to register with one doctor – if you can get in you can see any doctor of your choosing)
Apart from being sick I also have high blood pressure. I’ve been trying to avoid facing up this for a little while but the doc told me 170/110 was indeed bad and that I have to see him, or my regular GP at work, within 5 days to start on getting it down. My BP also means I’m not allowed to take any cold or flu medicine.
After dad’s recent scare all my excuses have melted away and it’s off to the doctor I will go like a good little boy.
Now excuse me, I have an appointment with the couch, a pillow, a rug and Close Encounters of The Third Kind that I really have to keep.
