The 70’s Film Festival continues at Cinema de Rae & Tony. Last night it was Marathon Man (imdb | buy at amazon). I’ve had a reminder in Blue Moon to make a dental appointment for ages now, but this film has just set my dental hygiene plans back a decade or so as my dentist has an uncanny resemblance to Laurance Olivier. Tonight it will probably be ‘Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid’ (imdb | buy @ amazon) if we can tear ourselves away from Cheaters.
Side story on purchasing the DVD – saw it in JB Hi Fi for $23.95, bought The French Connection instead. Popped in to K-Mart yesterday to see what they had in DVDs for 15% off. Saw Marathon Man for $32.95 and asked if they’d price match JB – “Sorry, can’t do because it’s 15% off everything today. Oh, let me check though.”. Checkout chick scanned the DVD – it came up as being for $19, so got it for $16 – half the marked price. Happy boy ’cause I love a bargain.
