The Tell
Telling people is one of the best part of this pregnancy so far.
This morning I got to tell three ladies who once worked for me and who still make my coffee every morning. Like everyone else there was that nanosecond pause as what you’ve said registers and then big smiles, I actually thought one lady may explode she was smiling so much. These wonderful women have been badgering me on an almost daily basis for over ten years to get married and/or have babies. Of course the first thing after ‘congratulations’ was ‘and when are you getting married?’.
Now they know pretty much everyone else around here will so my announcing job is done.
And my favourite response so far is via email :
If I had a camera phone I would send you a picture of me grinning like a d$#@head. That is the best news I have heard in a long time.
