House – One More Step

We received a call this morning – all the paperwork is in order and the files will be handed over to the construction manager today, we should have a start date confirmed shortly.

I Find That Hard To Believe

Rae was in a hurry this morning and couldn’t find her iPod so, being the kind and loving husband that I am, I offered her mine but she declined.

I have 8972 songs on my iPod and apparently she doesn’t like any of them.

A Short Walk

We all went for a walk today to drop some books back to the library. It was me, the twins in the pram and Albert on his little ride seat that clips on to the side of the pram. In the short few block stroll to the library from home I got :

  • “Aren’t you a good husband looking after the children.”
  • “Oh no, double trouble.”
  • “Oh twins, how adorable.”
  • “Aren’t they all just divine.”

All unsolicited from people I passed. Surely the sight of a dad looking after his kids isn’t that strange a thing anymore.

Rae Is A Little Concerned

MU565

I think Rae was muttering something along the lines of “I didn’t sign up to be the wife a plane spotter” as she left for work this morning. I have to admit when I heard myself saying “Ooooh, MU-565, a China East, haven’t got one of them before” I became a little alarmed myself.

Have to run – I think hear CA177 coming in…

The Cost Of Having Children

Kids, they cost the earth. Another night in emergency last night, another large bill and he’s spent the whole day hiding behind the mirror in our bedroom, curled up on a towel refusing to come out.

Yes, Thomas got himself in to a fight so it was a quick trip off to Lort Smith Animal Hospital to have the abscess looked at and treated. Poor boy is feeling sick and sorry today and hasn’t even bothered complaining about not being let out. We’ll keep him in for a couple of days until he’s feeling better before he’s allowed out during the day again.

Bloody kids, who’d ‘ave ’em.

Sky Trail On A Grey Day

I have a huge window next to my desk and today, when ignoring grumbling and/or sulky kids, it’s fantastic for plane spotting.

We occasionally get a plane flying over but today there’s a steady stream of them. I wonder if it has anything to do with changed approaches because of the 100kph+ winds we are experiencing. In the past few minutes I’ve watched CX105, QF437 and what could be QF2054 fly past on their way to MEL (and there goes JQ437).

Bite

I know it’s spelt bite, my only excuse is that I’m so bloody tired, or is that tyred, or….

70 And 2 Days

I’ve been a bit busy the past couple of days so this is a bit late but happy 70th birthday mum.

We took the tribe up to Shepp for her birthday party on Sunday and had a great time. My sister Helen has just bought a new house and hosted the day. That girl sure knows how to host a party, well done Helly, it was a fantastic day with loads of family, I think mum will be smiling for days yet.

Of course there had to be a little drama. We spent an hour or so in the emergency department of the Goulburn Valley Base Hospital with Henry after he had a rather severe reaction to what we think was a bite bight. He’s perfectly fine now and we made it back for cake, which is the important thing.
