This may be the first time in my life I wish I was a Brit instead of an Aussie; I wish there was something I could do to help save the best radio station in the world.
Hey! I just realised that on a recent trip to the home of the current holder of The Worlds Ugliest Trophy that I didn’t see it proudly on display underneath the telly.
Footy tipping is coming…
I wonder who Henry and I will be barracking for tomorrow morning.
In the past two months I’ve had to replace a monitor, a mouse, a modem/router, a network card, a skype phone and now I have to get a new sound card. Come on computer gods, gimme a break. The worse thing is that after last week’s stunning Big Love episode we haven’t been able to watch the latest ep. It’s sitting there, waiting. If I can’t get a new card tody we may have to resort to watching it on a laptop.
Argh. You know it’s going to be a bad day when, amongst other things, you don’t have enough milk for breakfast, or perhaps more importantly for my coffee. The thing is that for most people this isn’t a problem, pop around to the milk bar and grab some to tide you over before shopping. Great idea but when you live on a new estate there ain’t no such thing as a milk bar which means to go and grab a quick tide-me-over is more like a military operation than a nice stroll. It involves locking up the house, getting three kids inside a car, driving to the supermarket, getting three kids out of the car, traipsing three kids through a supermarket for one container of milk, getting three kids back in to the car, driving home and then finally be I’d able to have breakfast or make a coffee. Thirty minutes minimum.
A shopping centre is being built just a few minutes walk away, but it would have to be the slowest construction of shops on record. So while I wait for them to finish I’m going to have sit here and contemplate having a black tea. As I said, it’s not going to be a good day.
Grrrrrrr. Looks like 3 have changed the way they display incoming phone numbers on their system. When I was with Optus they used the full number with country code (+61411 etc). When I moved to 3 they didn’t have the +61 and just started the number with 0 so I went through and changed all the phone numbers in my contacts so names would display correctly. A week ago 3 changed their message system and it looks like they changed the numbers then too so this morning I had to sit and go through my contacts again changing them all back. I really need to get a phone I can easily sync with my Google contacts. Anybody need a web site? Will work for an iPhone.
If you have a touch screen mobile device (Touch/iPhone/Android/Blackberry Storm) you can now visit this site and it will automatically be formatted for touch thanks to the amazing WPTouchTheme. If you have one of these devices check it out, it does an incredible job.
So far so good, well and truly on the wagon still. There has been a couple of times a drink would have been nice; Rae’s birthday, a couple of stinking hot summer days and one rather stressful day that would have ended nicely with a glass of red but I haven’t relented. We’re off to dinner tonight (was meant to be a movie, but it started too late for a school night so it’s dinner instead) and it would be great to have a drink or two but it looks like lemonade and designated driver for me.
An article in The Sun today talking about The Tigers and their new coach. It doesn’t start well with this terrifying line :
RICHMOND’S new game plan was so alien to the players that initially some didn’t understand it.
I can see the team meeting where it was explained for the first time. “What’s that coach? You want us to kick the ball between the big sticks? Woah, hold on, that’s a lot to take in.”
