The Western Bulldogs Football Club have announced that rather than tie themselves to one sporting goods manufacturer they are going to market their own ‘Bulldog brand’ clothing.
My suggestion for it’s name.

Life between coffees.

Work, work, work. Dull, dull, dull. Bucket loads to do and the well of motivation is totally dry. Maybe it’s gone out in sympathy with the drought. Who knows.
There was a brief bright spot this morning though. Robin (the olfactory challenged office mate) and I set up a new video system for maternity recently. They used to show educational videos on an ad-hoc basis; basically when someone remembered they’d shove a video in and run around to each of the 30 rooms to let the patients know. Now it’s all computerised. Videos, stored on a PC, screen on the hour on a dedicated channel in the maternity ward. They also have the option to switch over to a VCR for special screenings if required.
Well it’s all been a great hit. Staff love it, patients love it and to say thanks we scored a big box of chocolates.
Ah, appreciation at work. What an odd feeling.
There was a hockey game yesterday, Canucks v Flames. I was busy doing work and napping in the afternoon (it was a long week, lay off) so went out of my way not to find out the scores when I logged in late afternoon.
Got to work, ignored all the hockey sites I normally visit and was just about to go to CKNW to listen to the archive of the game feeling good about not knowing who won when I glanced at my mail.
Last mail in, subject line : Canucks 2 Flames 2.
Yesterday the Canucks decided to start their post game review email service.

And it’s a glorious blue sky here today too.
I’d love to be cynical about today but when your love gives you Casablanca (IMDB | Buy at Amazon | Netflix) on DVD how can you be?
We may not have Paris, but Newport will do for now.
Yep – the murder in Shepparton I mentioned the other day has been solved.
Quite alarmingly I know the second man charged, I went to school with Jason Guthrie. My swiss cheese memory can’t remember if it was primary or secondary or both (I think he may have left early in secondary) but I was in a class with him at some stage. For some reason I remember curly hair and a surly demeanour.
Never would’ve picked him for a murderer though.

Damn, I was that close.
I stumbled across the news this morning that the Pet Shop Boys have released Disco 3.
Being a 21st century guy with musical taste firmly trapped in the ’80s I ran on down to the local Sanity and to my delight there was a copy in stock.
Well almost.
The cover was in stock.
No one seems to know where the CD went.
Sigh.
It’s not much but we’ll take it. A win over England in the first game we’ve played against them on their home soil. Sure, England paid us no respect by splitting their team in to A and B levels at half time, but we still outscored their A side 2-0.
The Socceroos have many years to go before they will be taken seriously but it feels good, even if no one here knows what the offside rule is.
I want to take a photo of my camera.
Most people who know me know I have a thing for things Canadian so this made me smile. Canada, the land of (ice) hockey, managed to defeat a test playing nation at the World Cup. Go Canada.
Okay, so it was only Bangladesh but a win is a win. I’m sure Australia isn’t losing any sleep over a Canada – Australia final should it come to that.
(And as for Shane Warne; he’s an idiot. Supremely talented and gifted, but an idiot none the less)
