Movable Type have reacted the backlash against their new personal use licensing and I would now scrape in to their first level of licensing, but have no option to let anyone else on my server. The fee has been reduced too 0 it’s now only USD$69.95 for 5 authors and five weblogs but that’s AUD$100+ for not much more than adding comment registration.
For me it’s the end of the road for MT.
Although having just posted this I see the following clause :
One site at one URL counts as a weblog for your license, even if it is made up of more than one weblog in the software.
This seems to me that ’cause all the blogs I host hang off my one URL I may be able to get by on a free license. Hmmmmmm.

This article http://www.sixapart.com/log/2004/05/movable_type_30.shtml tries to explain some of the stuff in the licences. I must say, the fact that they need to do this just turns me off the product even more.
Let me know how the install of pMachine goes… I managed to secure myself a free download too.
