I never got to see him play but every Tiger knows #17, the most sacred number in Tiger histroy.
His impact on our club is best summed up by Tom Hafey, “I?m quite certain that if you cut him in half, he would bleed black and yellow.”
Life between coffees.

I also remember Jack Dyer from his radio commentary on 3KZ (remember the catchphrase “3KZ IS football!”). The Bouchers (who lived next door to me in Ferguson Road North Shepp.) used to crank their radio real loud when 3KZ footy was on, I could hear it from our place crystal clear. Also remember him from “World of Sport” doing the Wales (now Westpac) footy panel (remember the footy money boxes?) and his interviews with footballers on that show. Legend.
I also never got to see him play, but I was guaranteed to hear him on the radio every Saturday afternoon when I was a kid. He was the Captain, part of the Captain and the Major, calling the footy on the Saturday arvo games on 3KZ.
The man was an absolute legend.
