I’m re-reading Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy (buy at amazon)on my new Palm. (For those who remember the great text adventure based on the book you can still play it online)
“Some factual information for you. Have you any idea how much damage that bulldozer would suffer if I just let it roll straight over you?”
“How much?” said Arthur
“None at all” said Mr Prosser
IF you remember the book I bet you’re smiling.
The 2nd thing?
My love bought me the new Ani diFranco album (buy at amazon) and I’m listening to it as I work. First listen through – it’s great, makes me want to go and drag up her earlier stuff to put on my PC. Especially ‘Not Angry Any More’, god I love that song. And ‘Tis Of Thee’. And ’32 Flavours’. And ‘Untouchable Face’. And ‘Little Plastic Castle’.
That seemingly random comment was made on the basis that Adams’ books come under the category of ‘Humour – British’.
I find it amazing, reading yours and other international blogs, how much comedy and music Britain has exported. Everything’s Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Pet Shop Boys, The Clash, The Smiths. I’m almost proud. But is that really all we’re good at? I’d swap it all not to have lost to Australia at soccer.
