Doctor appointment

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005

Meeting with Max today. So I wear my lovely pink shirt. For good impressions and all.
And at lunch, I spill hot chocolate down the front of it.

Ugly undies

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005

I just spent $30 on underwear. And not just any underwear. These are 4 pairs of ugly undies. Yunno, like the ones your Nana wears.
Why, I can hear you ask. Why would you do that to yourself?
Well, according to last nights class, after giving birth you should wear undies that come halfway up your body […]

Lyrics by Paul Kelly, as sung by Deborah Conway

Monday, June 20th, 2005

“Why are you home so late?” he asked
“Everybody wants to touch me.” I answered
And it’s true. Everybody loves to feel a pregnant belly. Mine too. And they always ask before they poke “Is that ok?” hand trembling close to the skin. I always smile and say it’s fine. Then oh-so-gently, their flat hand feels my […]

Remind me

Sunday, June 19th, 2005

Remind me next time I think I’m superwoman and can do almost anything, just as I could, oh say, 7 months or so ago, that I can’t and that I don’t have that energy anymore.

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

We were heading off to watch some Deadwood just now when Rae got distracted by a cupboard. Now the cupboard has been emptied and is being rearranged. Not only that but we also have a crib and baby sized chest of drawers in our bedroom.
The nesting has begun.

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

In August I’m going to have a little brother or sister. I am so
excited to see the baby.
I hope it to be a boy because the family will be equal like for example 2 boys and
2 girls.

Waiting

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

I’m not a great Tom Petty fan but I have to agree with him that the waiting is the hardest part.
It’s only 7 odd weeks now, and we’ve come a long way but it seems like an eternity ahead until we get to see our baby. Albert/Kennedy has slowed down their kicking a bit of […]

Queen

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

It’s official. Driving to work playing Queen makes a little one do a happy dance.
Yeah. Me too.

Tiredness kicking in

Tuesday, June 7th, 2005

I’m just so tired today. And last night was a night of not-so-bad-sleep. Might be getting to the time of real sleep needed now and that’s just not going to happen.
I sleep now with one pillow either under both knees or between them, and another sometimes under the curve in my middle (still have that […]
