The shadow of winter began to be cast yesterday in 35 degree heat.
We travelled down to Geelong to watch the Doggies play their pre-season game yesterday and it was a scorcher, 35 degrees apparently, and the teams were at it full throttle from the first siren. When I say teams I actually mean Geelong. The Doggies obviously didn’t want to make the trip to Cairns next weekend and put on a display to rival Richmond’s from Friday night.
We left half way through the final quarter and the drive home was long and silent, save for muted sobs. It’s going to be a long season.
