Oh, I agree Kathy. Bring your kids by all means but it it means you have to sit there and talk to them so they understand what's going on I think there are other alternatives.

To be honest, the problem there wasn't the 5-year-old, it was the talking. Constant talking / commentary during a movie is ill-mannered and does spoil the experience for other patrons. If he had been simply *bringing* his 5-year-old, I'd say, well, horses for courses; it's not up to me to police how other people raise their kids. The talking IS your business though because it's so intrusive for everyone else.

I gave away most of my ties and suits to Blaxk Saturday victims who has nothing to wear to funerals etc. I heard the call go out on 774 at the time and just thinking how horrible the whole thing was and how they didn't have a stitch to wear to the funerals of loves ones bought me to tears. So I went upstairs, told Karen, broke down again and donated them.

I use a dryer though we've now got it down to a socks/jocks and towels only these days with heaps of clothes airers to hang up the rest. Can't use the line as the dog eats clothes. LOL

I'm the same with the clothes dryer, it's such a waste of money, but now that we have real winters again, it may be worth the investment. There are some that stop when they sense the clothes are dry.

Regarding a small heater, there are these little portable ceramic heaters that are supposed to be very efficient and if you can keep your office closed whilst you are in it, they are not supposed to use too much electricity.

I've got a drier I probably use about once a month or less. Can be useful in emergencies.

Assuming your central heating can't do just one room, sounds like a portable heater would be in order. Oil heaters are probably fairly efficient. Come to think of it I might even have a spare one you can have on permanent loan.

So glad to know I'm not the only one searching for Oddfellows! Absolute disgrace the way they've disappeared from supermarket shelves. Will make use of that link (many thanks to Nick) but it really is a sign of the times - all sorts of good products vanishing so supermarkets can replace them with their home brands.
