Doin’ Time
Oh mate, life’s tough.
Since you’ve taught yourself to commando crawl wherever you want nothing is safe; not that cats, not the fluff on the floor, not the cat food so we had to assemble (insert ominous drum roll here) The Pen.
We bought you a nice big one so you could still crawl around in it. indeed it takes up most of the lounge room floor (and blocks dada’s dvd remote) so we can sprinkle toys around and you can play to your hearts content. Well, your heart was content for a while but now it’s all changed.
Every time I put you in The Pen you start to scream. Nothing, not even the bear that sings the Tiger’s song, can distract you. Your face goes red, the lungs fill up and you let rip. Every. Single. Time. I’m sorry mate, but we do have to get things done and we can’t afford the cat food if we let you roam as you want. For now you’ll have to do your time, and with good behaviour you should be out in about ten months.

lol, I’m looking forward to this stage, NOT! Our floor is covered most of the time in shed Black Lab hair… everyday at least 2 handfuls finds it’s way onto the floor :( and as you know there’s not that much time in the day! :D

I’ve heard kids really resent the spell in “prison.” I’m just about to go and get one and was wondering what type you got and whether you recommend it.

Would definitely recommend this one. We’d gone to Highpoint for the Toys are us that’s there, and the biggest one they had was about 1 metre by 1 metre. Didn’t really seem big enough, so we checked out Baby Bunting which is just up the road from Highpoint and they had this one. We got the display stock for just over $100, but it retailed around $40 more than that. This one has 6 equal sides and builds to a hexagon. It’s takes up a lot of space, so we are currently only using 5 of the sides and holding it together with bungy/octopus cords. It does fit in the lounge room fully made up, but makes for a squishy walk past it.
Would definitely recommend - it’s a kiddy cots brand.

Owen loves it in his playpen, but he’s not shoved in there very often. Mainly at mealtimes, when Mum and Dad want to eat.
