Morning Song
Most mornings of late we’ve been woken by our little boy grunting. He seems to like about 5.00am to start the grunts, and they keep on going until, well, we all know why he’s grunting.
This morning though we were woken by something new. Our boy has found his voice. He’s been making the odd non-grunt noise here and there for a while but this morning he obviously finally figured out what to do and for fifteen or so glorious minutes we lay in bed and listened to the little man chirp, mutter, coo and sing his heart out to The Invisible People Who Live Above My Cot.
When he stopped I got up and checked on him. He was lying in bed with a smile on his face and his eyes said “there you go dad”.
I’m still smiling.
