Can be depressing…
oh dear, is there anything less depressing?
I’ve been shopping now for about a month to a month and a half for a decent looking maternity bra. I didn’t expect much from it, but I wasn’t paying the $50 that Myer wanted for their most-est basic-est one, and I didn’t want one that made me look absolutely and totally disgusting. I mean, I may be pregnant, but I still feel kinda sexy, why should my bra make me feel so bad?
So, shopping away the other day, a friend spotted some in a store for only $9.99. I figured I’d go back today when I had my lunchbreak alone and try one on. Gave it a go and nearly burst into tears. It looked worse than my very first bra. And made me look a thousand times more awful than I felt!
I wander down to Target, as I know they have trousers on a 20% off sale. The ones I’m wearing today still fit, so I figure I’ll check out and see if they have more. 20% off is 20% off after all.
In between the entrance and the trouser section is the bra section, so I stop, find 4 that look almost alright and go to try them on. By the third one I was despairing. Is it true that no maternity bra can make you look - at the very least - normal??
Finally the fourth one, I liked. It was pretty enough to wear normally and didn’t mishapen my boobs. Thank heaven. I dashed back to the shelf, found another one in the same size, then I went off in search of chocolate.
After all, a good shopping expedition always ends with chocolate!

I have never been pregnant myself but I remember shopping with my aunt and she ended up with this hideous peach coloured grandma looking bra that cost a fortune. With all the maternity clothing shops around has no one thought to create attractive bras for pregnant girls at affordable prices. Chin up we can have a ceremonial burning of the maternity bra at the end of the pregnancy!!

i ended up buying two (hideously expensive) elle mcpherson maternity bras. they even came in black!! the only nice maternity bras which i’ve ever found.
