Sleeping positions

I’m quite happy sleeping on my right hand side. I’ve just read that it’s not good and better to sleep on your left. I’ve been told to not sleep on my back from week 20 onwards. And there ain’t no way that I’ll be able to sleep on my tummy.

Harrumph.

There are so many rules to remember! And when you’re tired, it’s pretty hard to even remember the basics… Roll on 2nd trimester and rest!

bah. i wouldn’t worry too much. i was driving myself crazy trying to get comfortable on my left side & not rolling onto my back, but when i asked my obstetrician about it, he said not to worry, because if i was on my back & the baby was resting on the vena cava (sp? i’m pretty sure that’s what it’s called. you know, that big vein or artery which supplies blood to the vital bits for the baby) then i’d feel uncomfortable as well & i’d *want* to roll over.

remember, women have been having babies for centuries before they knew this & most of them turned out fine .. not to mention that you yourself have been there before. :-)
