Health

With what this blog is about in mind, I’ve been considering my health in the lead up to September. Yes, this year it has nothing to do with football, since my team looks unlikely to ever make me a happy woman.

If we’re considering starting the cooking phase in September, or at least trying to, then I should be in pretty good health. I started taking yoga lessons quite by coincidence. I mean I started the lessons, then thought how good it would be in relation to getting pregnant. Well, perhaps nothing to do with getting pregnant, but more so in relation to being pregnant and giving birth.

Now with Tony’s little scare last week, we’re both thinking in terms of eating healthily. We’re not going to deny ourselves the stuff we like, but we’ll both start to limit the bad stuff and have a little more of the good.

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s supermarket shopping for me tonight after work. I’ve got the weekly menu planned out, as I do every week. I think I’ve got one night of no dinner so far, so now I’m off in search of a healthy meal that we will all enjoy. As well as it being really easy and quick to cook.

I have literally tonnes of healthy, tasty recipes approved for trying-to-be-preggie and actually-preggie women, if you want them. I developed a few before we even started trying, and it was such a relief when I was pregnant to not have to think of new preg-safe, palatable food all the time.
Oh and BTW, when you fall preg, you need to tell your yoga instructor straight away. Some yoga exercises aren’t a good idea in early and mid pregnancy, and can give you awful muscle strains that you then have to carry around for 9 months (it happens because the preg hormones relax everything too much, and loosey-goosey muscles are no good for some yoga stretches).
